World F:250 Championship

The World F:250 Championship is a three round series for the 250cc Outboard Hydroplanes. It is open to all drivers from around the world. Round 1 is in Ternopol, Ukraine (25th - 26th August), Round 2 is in Kriebstein, Germany (15th - 16th September), and Round 3 is in Boretto, Italy (13th - 14th October).

Round 1 - Ternopil, Ukraine (25th - 26th August)

The first round of the UIM F:250 World championship was held in Ternopil, Ukraine with 16 entries. Wayne was suffering from engine problems that was affecting his speed and therefore lap time and he could only manage 10th place in qualifying. Despite some good starts in the three races his lack of speed meant that he had to continuously defend his position and could only manage 8th, 8th and 9th place finishes. These heat results meant he finished 10th overall, the win went to Claudio Fanzini with Peter Bodor second and Marco Malaspina third. The second round of the series will be held in Kriebstein, Germany on the 15th - 16th September.

Round 2 - Kriebstein, Germany (15th - 16th September)

At the second of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Kriebstein, Germany Wayne was again suffering from engine problems and could only manage to set the 8th fastest time in qualifying. In race one Wayne got off to a good start and was lying in 4th position when the engine failed and scored a DNF. With the engine repaired he again got a good start in race two and finished the race in 6th position. In the third and final race Wayne again made a good start but had to defend heavily because of the lack of speed and finished the race in 5th. Despite the DNF in race one Wayne finished in 6th place in the overall standings. The overall win went to Claudio Fanzini with Andrea Ongari second and Peter Bodor third. The third and final round of the series will be held in Boretto, Italy on the 13th - 14th October.

Round 3 - Boretto, Italy (13th - 14th October)

At the final round of the UIM F:250 World Championship held in Boretto, Italy Wayne had solved his long standing engine problems but with the amount of debris flowing down the river the program was reduced, limiting the amount of time available to perfect the boat setup. Wayne set the 5th fastest time in the reduced practice/qualifying session, with pole position going to Claudio Fanzini. In the first race Wayne got squeezed at the start and dropped to the back of the field, he however got his head down and worked his way up to 6th place by the end of the race. The win went to Fanzin with Peter Bodor second and Alex Cremona third. In the second race Wayne got a good start and was in a comfortable fourth place until the final lap when he hit some debris in the water damaging the boats turning fin forcing him to stop. The win again went to Fanizin, with Bodor second and Cremona third. The third and final race was cancelled because of the amount of debris in the river. This meant that Wayne finished in a disappointing 8th position in the overall event standings, with Claudio Fanzini taking the win, Peter Bodor second and Alex Cremona third.

Wayne finished in 7th in the overall championship standings. Gold went to Claudio Fanzini, with Peter Bodor taking sliver and Andrea Ongari bronze.
